Tips: Volt amp meter applications in testing switch
If you think the switch is bad, you can test it using the ohmmeter function on a digital phase voltmeter (double clamp). With the breaker off and the switch off, set the volt amp meter to measure resistance and touch the probes to the switch terminals. When the switch is off, the resistance should be close to zero. If the resistance is high, it's time for a new switch.
